Welcome to my workshop...

Before we go inside this is the outside. I'm based in a single car garage (Sadly)

Hope you like the snow (We don't get it too often !)

Well here is is (When it's tidy !)

Lets start the tour with my tool station, on this There is a Bin, Off cuts box under the chop saw stand. To the right of that you can see my workshop vac. The box above that is filled with 'FIREWOOD' to the left of that is the Bench top joiner. When I come to use this I clamp it down to a workmate. Below this there is a space (Filled with junk) Which I will fill with a tool/s in the future. Also you can see my 4 extension leads, which I use with the powertools.

Also you can see how colourful the back wall is. i don't like the door very much. New door is being fitted soon, this will be insulated and make it will all be a lot warmer !

This is my tool cabinet. The yellow squares are pointless - they just make it look nicer and cheer me up (For you info.) To the right you can see my tablesaw sled and my window.

Inside the door of the tool cabinet you can see my titanium coated drills and my marking out tools (Soon to be extended - watch this space)
The inside of the cabinet contains my two 12v Makita drill drivers and 2 spare batteries. .

Below the drills I have many drill bits (Spade bits, Forsetner bits, Plug cutters etc...) I've also go my Japanese saw, Trend Pocket hole jig, Steel Rulers and a rasp.

This is my home made workbench. It's on castors and can be moved round where I want it. I developed this bench gradually. I thought what I wanted. I needed it to be mobile, but still heavy and substantial enough. I needed a good top so I used solid Beech butcher block - a countertop material (Not chipboard), which is strong and will last long. Under the main section of the bench there is a sub-frame toped with a layer of MDF in total it's about 55mm thick including the frame. I needed a vice obviously to hold work.
When I looked at the pro benches I noticed they all had bench dog systems with big metal square dogs, I couldn't afford these and didn't need something as heavy duty. So I developed a bench dog system (Used to clamp work in place while working) The holes are in a long line spaced every 100mm. This allows me to clam a range of sizes.
I converted my vice and made it wider when I tighten it the round dogs come closer together squeezing the work.
This is a picture of something clamped on the bench, using the dog system.
These drawers I made fit into one of the back cabinets. I store all sorts of hardware and drill bits etc. in them.

These are my various adhesives. I mainly use Titebond original

The Klamp Korner !

These are my 19 long bar clamps, speed clamps and F-clamps. I need a lot more- so soon to be extended... (2 added since picture was taken)

"You can never have enough clamps". These are my 28 short ones. F-clamps, G- clamps and spring clamps, I use these for clamping work down and when gluing smaller things. The 12 G-clamps I don't use often and are really for back up.

I HAVE 43 OR SO AND I STILL NEED MORE !!!!

This is the Alarm control box. I feel that it's very important to fit one of these - I have 4 sensors dotted around.
This is my Drill press located on the back bench.
This is the back view of the back wall. You can see my 2 cabinets with my tools and other stuff in. My clamps, Adhesives Back bench and the drill press and all this other stuff. You can also see my sawdustalley sign.
This is crabby the clock. He keeps me company when I work and we have very interesting conversations (Not)........Well we all need to tell the time don't we !!
This is my 'Sawdustalley' Sign. It even has a saw !
Here's my tablesaw station - For me the centre of my shop. I can do so much with it.
This is the right extension wing. It works really well and gives much more capacity to my saw.
As you can see both the side and out feed extensions can be removed.
